GAMEDAY PREVIEW: Sabres Vs Nottingham Outlaws

The Sheffield Sabres host Nottingham Outlaws at Bawtry Road Sports Ground this Sunday (23rd) at 4pm.

Having to postpone their first fixture due to bad weather, the Sabres are more eager than ever to start their 2008/9 campaign with a win at Sabre Field in BUAFL week 4.

Nottingham Outlaws won their first 2008/9 season game against Leicester Longhorns 18 - 0 in week 3. The Sabres look to match the Outlaws record of 1-0, at what promises to be an exciting opener to the Sabres' season.

GAMEDAY PREVIEW: Sabres Vs Liverpool Fury

The Sheffield Sabres begin their 2008/9 campaign against league new-comers Liverpool Fury at Niagara Playing Fields this Sunday (16th).

Having prepared for over 2 months and waited for nearly 6 months for competitive football the excitement is building for the big kick off at Sabre Field in BUAFL week 3.

Liverpool Fury lost their first official BUAFL game to Lincoln Colonials 12 - 8 in week 1, meaning both the Sabres and Fury will be looking for their first win of the season.

Sabres get their hands dirty for community centre.

In accordance with the Sabres' volunteering scheme 9 players plus Head Coach Dwyer and children did their part in renovating Angleton Community Centre. New this year the scheme was introduced with the idea of giving something back and become a bigger part of the community.

University sport nationwide has been shown in a bad light recently and the Sabres hope their first project of the year can set the tone for the future and encourage more sports clubs to adopt to volunteering.

Sabres Represented at MVP Game

Four Sabres were flying the flag for the club at last weekends MVP game. Where the North cam out victorious in a very tight affair down in Buckinghamshire. The Game finally ended 12-7 to the North, with Sabres Defensive Back Robin Toone taking a pick in the endzone for a kneel to end the game.
